WORLD DAY OF PRAYER 2023 March 3, 11:00 am St. A & J, Rumford “I have heard about your faith.” (Ephesians 1:15-19) Our parish is celebrating and hosting an Ecumenical prayer service to participate in the World Day of Prayer for peace and justice. This is an opportunity to grow deeper in our faith experience and ecumenical embrace of our shared Christian faith as we seek God’s mercy. The world day of prayer has its origins in the 19th century, and each year Christians from a different country author the theme materials. The theme of the WDP 2023 program, authored by women of Taiwan, is based on Ephesians 1:15-19, the letter sent to a faith community to express gratitude. Taiwan is a multi-ethnic country with population of 23.6 million. The characteristics of the Taiwanese people are confidence, and perseverance in times of difficulty. Despite the uncertainty of the path ahead, they know the salvation of Christ has come. Please consider reflecting on Ephesians 1:15-19 as we prepare to join with our local faith community in prayer. All are welcome to join in the World Day of Prayer and enjoy fellowship in the parish hall following the service.
