We’ve all experienced temptation. Confronting temptation is part of the Lenten journey. Maybe you’ve already experienced it? It’s amazing to me that even though I’m accustomed to occasionally skipping meals, that on Ash Wednesday all day my stomach was grumbling and complaining as if I was committing the biggest act of injustice. Somehow just the intention to live some kind of disciplined life during Lent brings out temptation.
Last week following Jesus in the foothills, we reflected on the fact that Jesus is the Greatest Teacher Ever. Jesus not only gives us information; but he teaches us how to live life, to experience life more abundantly. Today he teaches us how to confront temptation. He shows us how to avoid sin.
