Jesus was a teacher. Not just any teacher, but the Greatest Teacher Ever. When you think about what makes a good teacher, Jesus had an amazing ability to uncomplicated things- to present the subject matter in ways that were easily understandable and in ways that could be remembered. He was a great teacher because he inspired people. He had an amazing ability to go beyond the surface of things, and teach in such a way as to lead to conversion of heart. Today’s Gospel is a good example. Jesus, the Greatest Teacher Ever, uniquely combines these two teachings “Do not be anxious” and “Love your enemies”. Jesus is teaching us today that we will not be anxious when we learn to love our enemies.
